Can You Help?

As stated on my main page, East Tennessee has been the sole scope of my researching. I have not had to research in many other locations so am very unfamiliar with what is available in various areas to aid me in research. I have recently undertaken the "hunt" for my greatgrandfather's sister and her descendants, as this sister and her family moved to Texas around the 1890's. Last contact with anyone from this branch was back in the 1940's and would like to know what happened to them. The following is what I have so far:

The Baxter/Jones Family

In Greene County, TN., my greatgrandfather, John Franklin Baxter, Jr., had an older sister named Nancy who married a Samuel Albert Jones in 1866. Nancy was in her twenties when John was born, so her first born child is only 2 years younger than John. This child was named Ida. Sam and Nancy also had a son about 1872 named Frank A. and possibly two other daughters (Sue and Bertha). Family legend has it that Nancy and Sam moved to Texas around the 1890's -- although I cannot find this family on the 1880 census, and the only time I can find Ida is on the 1870 Greene Co TN census. Nancy, as head of household and a widow, and Frank are found on the 1900 census in McKinney, Collin Co. TX. Living with Nancy and Frank is a granddaughter, Cora, aged 7. Still no Ida, although by this time she could have married, and again family legend (aka no proof) has it that she married a Will Hill (supposedly a banker in Dallas).

The 1910 Census for McKinney, Collin Co, TX, shows Nancy as head of household, living with a granddaughter named Alice who is 17 (Cora Alice or Alice Cora?). A Frank A. Jones is living in Dallas as a border (10 years older than the Frank in 1900, same places of birth for him and parents). By 1920, Nancy is not found anymore, Frank is now married to someone named Hazel living in Dallas, and still no Ida to be found. In the 1930 census, Frank and Hazel are living in the same house, no children.

The following pictures were taken when the "kin from Texas" came up to visit their relatives in Greene County TN, once in 1925 and the other in 1941. On the back of these snapshots the names of the people are noted. These identities were written quite some time after the fact and I believe that a few of these folks are misnamed. This believe is derived from looking at the pictures, comparing the ages of those folks in the pictures and the years these pictures were noted as taken. The identities of those in question will have asterisks (*) after their name. If you should recognize any of these people, or know what happened to them you can drop me a note to help solve this mysterious family.
